Shelter Moutain
By Robyn Carr
A Virgin River Novel
John “Preacher” Middleton is about to lose the bar when a young women and her three-year-old son come in out of the wet October night. A marine who has seen his share of pain, Preacher knows a crisis when he sees one- the woman is covered in bruises. He wants to protect them, and he wants to punish whoever did this to her, but he knows immediately that this inclination to protect is something much more. Paige Lassister has stirred up emotions in this gentle giant of a man- emotions that he has never allowed himself to feel.
But when Paige’s ex-husband turns up in Virgin River, Preacher knows his own future hangs in the balance. And if there’s one thing that marines’ moot to Semper Fidelis- always faithful- has taught him, it’s that some things are worth fighting for.
Robyn Carr brings you into Virgin River and makes you feel like you are right there with them. This is my first time reading any of Robyn Carr’s books and I have to tell you that she quickly make you love her and pulls you right into the book and makes you feel right at home. I can tell you I will be reading a lot more of her books.
Preacher falls quickly for Paige but you can just sense that he does not think the feelings are the same. You will not believe some of the things that Preacher and Paige go through to keep afloat. Paige is ready to run away at the drop of a dime and who can blame her. You meet amazing characters in this book and you truly feel like you are sitting at the bar with them enjoying the scenery.
I love how the book leaves off right where the next book”Whispering Rock” picks up.
This is a must read book for anyone that loves a good romance and small town living.
